Not only do we teach photography classes and workshops, but we also do private photography lessons for students! Our latest private lesson was for our Studio Lighting Workshop that we hold multiple times a year. This was an advanced level lighting lesson for an experienced photographer that needed help in lighting and shooting specific modeling shots. For students who require a more one-on-one learning style or would like to learn specific types of photography, our private lessons are perfect!

A behind the scenes look at this past week’s Intro to Studio Lighting workshop! Students learned about all the basic lighting and into the more specific and advanced lighting techniques to step up the photo shoot skills. The students had plenty of time shooting our model with each of the lighting setups. Our specialty workshops have smaller class sizes so each student has plenty of shooting time with the model to try out their new skills. In addition, the students have one-on-one time with the instructor to ensure their understanding of what their learning and to get their questions answered!

Orcatek Photography Studio was once again the host for the annual fashion photography workshop for Scottsdale Community College photography students. Students got the opportunity to experience and learn all the components of working on and running a real photo shoot using models, props, and all the lighting techniques and skill that goes into getting that perfect shot. Workshops like this give the students the opportunity to take the skills they learn in the classroom and put them into a real world setting as a photographer.
